Formula One - Go Massa!
July 5th, 2008 Posted in Formula OneWho would have ever thought that I would ever like Formula One.
The first memories I have of this sport was not understanding how anyone could like watching “go kart like” cars racing around the track going past you so fast that you can’t even tell who was driving. They weren’t even Holden or Fords!
The first Formula 1 race I ever went to was sponsored by work in 2000. I was working for this company at the timeand we had to take down 20 of our best clients to Adelaide to see the race and show them the time of their lives. You’ve got to be joking. I don’t even like the sport. All I can remember is being deafened by these things and spending more time at the beer tent than at the actual race.
My turning point was a year or two later when I was forced to watch a few races by one of my friends. Hey, there’s is something pretty exciting about getting up in the middle of Sunday night knowing that you have to go to work the next morning and cheering on your favourite driver - and of course bagging the %^& out of the teams you hate! Before I knew it, I was addicted.
Now it drives me crazy if I miss a race.
