Sorry we’re open! - Who is to blame for bad customer service?

It’s a sign we are seeing more and more these days.

“SORRY, WE’RE OPEN”

Whilst the sign itself is somewhat amusing when you think a little bit more about it you soon realise that more and more shops should probably be displaying the same sign.  A sign of the times ahead.

This day and age, customer service seems to have decreased to an all time low, but who is to blame?

On the outside you would not be blamed in to thinking that bad customer service is a result of poorly trained store attendants however I believe that it is more closely related to the fact that people in customer service roles are sick and tired of being verbally abused by a growing number of ignorant and aggressive individuals and as a result that attendants morale is lowered.

Who do I blame? - “Marshall Field” - The “pioneer” who said

“Right or wrong the, the customer is always right”

Shame on you Marshall, if you only knew what you’ve created!
